Abstract:
In order to study the combustion of tobacco biomass, four kinds of typical tobacco biomass (cut strips of middle leaves of flue-cured tobacco, expanded cut stem, expanded cut tobacco and reconstituted tobacco)were tested by TG-DSC at the heating rates of 5, 10, 15 and 20℃/min. The results showed that: 1)The combustion of volatile and fixed carbon in the four kinds of tobacco biomass was not a continuous process, volatiles and fixed carbon were ignited independently. 2)The combustion of volatiles and fixed carbon in expanded cut tobacco would overlap at higher heating rates (15 and 20℃/min). 3)By calculating the combustibility indexes of tobacco biomass, it was found that the combustion property of the four kinds of tobacco biomass did not obviously differ at the heating rates of 5 and 10℃/min, however that of expanded cut tobacco was better at a heating rate of 15 or 20℃/min.
