Abstract:
For improving the quality of dried cut strips comprehensively, the drying rates and sensory quality of different grade strips in tobacco blend of cigarette brand "Huangjinye(Y)" were tested. The cut strips were grouped by their drying rates, and the drying experiments of the grouped tobacco were carried out. The results showed that: 1) The drying rate of cut strips differed obviously between grades, those of upper and lower leaves were higher than that of middle leaves; and drying rate also differed obviously between paper making process reconstituted tobacco and strips. 2) The grouped modules A and B of "Huangjinye(Y)" were dried at cylinder wall temperatures 135/110 and 135/100℃, cylinder rotation rates 11 and 10r/min, respectively. Comparing with the cut strips dried without grouping, the filling value of dried cut strips of modules A and B increased by 0.19 cm
3/g, the standard deviation of moisture content decreased from 0.15% to 0.11%, the sensory quality scores improved by 0.9, and the deliveries of tar and CO reduced by 0.4 and 0.3 mg/cig, respectively.
