Abstract: To eliminate the lubricant leakage and reduce the maintenance work, the label guiding and rolling device in YB47 packer was modified as following:1) Removing original parts including guide wheel, shaft coupling, gear shaft. 2) Replacing the gear shaft with a stepped idler shaft to avoid the friction between shaft and oil seal. 3) Using fixed guide plate to replace the rotatable guide wheel. The results showed that:1) Movable parts were eliminated in the modified device, no lubricant was needed, and the running status of label conveying section was improved effectively. 2) The number of machine stoppage related to label conveying decreased by 44% and the amount of defective packets reduced by 51%. The labor intensity of equipment maintenance decreases, and the quality of cigarette packets is promoted.
