Abstract:
To investigate the salt tolerances of different flue-cured tobacco varieties and screen out salt-tolerance varieties, the seeds of five flue-cured tobacco varieties (Honghuadajinyuan, K326, Yunyan87, Yunyan97 and Zhongyan100) were treated with a salt mixture(NaCl:Na
2SO
4=1:1, mol:mol)at different mass concentrations(0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8% and 1.0%), and the germination characteristics of the five varieties were determined. The results showed that:1) Salt mixture solutions at low concentrations promoted the seed germination of Yunyan87, K326, Yunyan97 and Zhongyan100, however at a high concentration the salt mixture solutions had strong inhibition effects on the seed germination of all five varieties. 2) Salt tolerances of different varieties differed. In the treatments of middle and low salt concentrations(0.2%-0.6%), there was no obvious difference of germination indexes and vigor indexes among different varieties, Yunyan97 and Yunyan87 had a relatively higher germination rate, the germination potential of Zhongyan100 was lower, while that of Yunyan97 was higher. In the treatments of high salt concentrations (0.8% and 1.0%), the seed germination indexes of Yunyan87 were the best, those of Honghuadajinyuan and Yunyan97 were better. However, the germination indexes of Zhongyan100 and K326 decreased significantly.
