Abstract:
In order to improve the consistency in cigar manufacturing, the mass of cigar filler produced by MIR-01 cigar making machine affected by operation parameters and input tobacco material conditions was studied. The results of modeling of filler forming mechanism and analysis of production process indicated that the pressure and lifting elevation of the pressing plate were the major factors influencing filler mass. A method for rapidly determining the moisture content in filler was established, and the effects of moisture content on filler mass were researched on different machines running at different operation parameters. The results showed that:1) Pressure and lifting elevation of the pressing plate and moisture content in tobacco were the major factors affecting filler mass. 2)Filler mass increased with the increase of pressure and lifting elevation of the pressing plate, however they were not linearly correlated. 3) Filler mass increased as the rise of moisture content in tobacco linearly. This study was helpful to the fast adjustment of processing parameters in cigar production.
