Abstract:
In order to prevent the cigarette cartons in a sealed case from being lost or adulterated in the process of storage and transportation, an anti-counterfeiting device was designed via mechanically perforating cigarette cases. The device was mainly composed of a rotating perforating drum, a pneumatic cylinder, a position sensor and a control circuit. The device was installed on the both sides of a conveyor at the end of a case-sealing machine. When a cigarette case is passing through, the perforating drum controlled by the PLC drives the perforating head to make a series of evenly spaced small holes on the gummed tapes and surface tier of the cigarette case. Once a cigarette case was opened and resealed, it was difficult to match the perforated holes on gummed tape with those on cigarette case again, thereby to ensure the intactness of the cigarette case. The results showed that the application of the device reduced the number of unjustly opened cigarette cases by 4.5 cases per thousand cases. This technology provides a method for the protection of products packed in a sealed case.
