Abstract:
In order to promote cigarette quality and machine efficiency, the dynamic rheological data of tipping glue adaptable to HAUNI Protos 2-2 were fitted with Ostwald-de Wale power-law formula, and non-Newton index
n of the same was calculated to investigate the dynamic rheological properties of different tipping glues. The influences of dynamic rheological properties of tipping glue on the quality of filter assembling and machine running status were studied, and the results showed that:1) The dynamic rheological properties affected the application amount and permeation behavior of glue, too large or too small
n had a negative influence on its operational adaptability. 2) Bigger
n associated with more glue application and led to slow drying, wrinkled tipping might occur. On the contrary bubble-like wrinkle tipping or filter missing might occur due to rapid drying. 3) When bigger
n and higher viscosity glue was used, glue would build up on cutter, paper-cutting drum, rolling drum and rolling plate more rapidly, which increased the frequencies of machine shutdown. For the status of Protos 2-2 cigarette maker and the tipping paper used in this experiment, the appropriate range for non-Newton index
n of tipping glue was from 0.825 to 0.866.
