Abstract:
In order to investigate the effects of cigarette paper parameters on the releases of chemical components in mainstream smoke of slim cigarettes, the influences of paper air permeability, grammage, hemp pulp ratio and calcium carbonate content of cigarette paper were investigated by single-factor experiments. The results showed that:1) When cigarette paper air permeability increased from 50 to 70 CU, the releases of water, CO, single aroma component and total aroma components were decreased, and the delivery of total aroma components on per unit tar basis was reduced as well. 2) When cigarette paper grammage increased from 27 to 37 g/m
2, the puffing number decreased and the releases of TPM and water also decreased, while the release of CO increased. The releases of single aroma component and total aroma components were lowered, and the release of aroma components on per unit tar basis was also decreased. 3) When hemp pulp ratio increased from 0 to 40%, the releases of TPM, water, tar and CO were reduced. The deliveries of single aroma component and total aroma components were decreased slightly, while the releases of aroma components on per unit tar basis did not change obviously. 4) When calcium carbonate content increased from 27% to 33%, the releases of TPM, water, and tar were decreased; the releases of CO, single aroma component and total aroma components were decreased slightly, and the deliveries of aroma components on per unit tar basis were increased.
