Abstract:
In order to promote the sorting efficiency and lower the production cost, a new type sorter for cigarette cartons of different sizes was designed on the basis of the structure and sorting means of traditional vertical sorter. The new sorter is mainly composed of a carton offsetting device, a carton storage and a carton discharger. Cigarette cartons are stored in different compartments in the carton storage according to their sizes separately, the offsetting device put cartons into the compartment which is not fully filled automatically, and the carton discharger released cartons according to the demands of orders automatically. Traditional and new type sorters were tested with 40 variants of cigarette cartons, the results showed that the new sorter operated stably, raised sorting capability by 1 493 carton/h, the storage reserved 400 more cartons, reduced 2 operators, and the machine shutdown decreased by 3 times/h comparing with the traditional sorter. The new type sorter provides technical supports for promoting the sorting efficiency of sorter for cigarette cartons of different sizes and reducing labor cost.
