Abstract:
In order to investigate the effects of auxiliary material parameters on the sensory quality and routine chemical component deliveries of slim cigarettes, slim cigarettes with different cigarette paper air permeability, cigarette paper grammages, tow specifications and tipping paper air permeability were prepared. Their sensory quality was evaluated, and the deliveries of routine chemical components in mainstream cigarette smoke were analyzed. The results showed:1) Cigarette paper air permeability slightly influenced the sensory quality of slim cigarettes. With the increase of cigarette paper air permeability, the deliveries of routine chemical components in mainstream smoke decreased. 2) With the increase of cigarette paper grammage, the sensory quality of slim cigarettes deteriorated, the deliveries of tar and nicotine in mainstream smoke decreased, while CO delivery basically unchanged. 3) Comparing with the slim cigarettes with tow specification of 6.0/17 000, the sensory quality of slim cigarettes with tow specification of 8.0/15 000 was better, and the deliveries of routine chemical components were higher. 4) With the increase of tipping paper air permeability, the sensory quality of slim cigarettes increased first and then deteriorated slightly, tipping paper air permeability ranked in the order of the sensory quality total score was 500 CU > 600 CU > 400 CU. The deliveries of all routine chemical components were decreased. By means of optimizing the corresponding auxiliary material parameters, the sensory quality of slim cigarettes could be improved and the deliveries of tar and CO could be reduced.
