Abstract:
In order to establish a method for testing puffing volumes of e-cigarette consumers, a bespoke connector of the CReSS Pocket suitable for e-cigarettes of different mouthpiece circumferences was developed. The calibration method of an external standard curve was employed to solve the testing inaccuracy under large puff volumes. The influence of e-cigarette aerosol deposition on the results was eliminated by changing the testing direction of CReSS Pocket. The results showed that:1) This method was suitable for testing the puffing volumes of consumers smoking e-cigarette products of different types and circumferences. 2)This method had a good accuracy and precision within the puffing volume range between 20-250 mL. The applicability of the established method was demonstrated by testing the puffing volumes of 20 e-cigarette consumers using this method.
