Abstract:
In order to reduce tobacco breakage and stabilize tobacco feeding, the cut tobacco feeder in YJ17 cigarette maker was modified. The bolts on the accelerator roller were replaced by blades to accelerate tobacco in a gentle way. The rotation speed of picker roller was reduced to minimize tobacco breakage. The modified feeder was tested in Bengbu Cigarette Factory on cigarettes of brand "Huang Shan (New Wanyan)". The results showed that the proportion of long strand increased by 3.9 percentage points, and that of short strand decreased by 0.7 percentage points, the filling value of cut tobacco raised by 0.05 cm3/g, the percentage of loose end cigarette decreased by 0.09 percentage points, the rejection rate of cigarettes with weight beyond tolerance (670±70 mg) reduced by 24%, and the standard deviation of cigarette weight lowered by about 2 mg. This technology provides a support for the stabilization of tobacco feeding in cigarette maker.
