Abstract: The setting of packet turnover device for cigarette brand change in GDX2 packing line was complicated and time-consuming, therefore a convenient turnover device was designed, which was mainly composed of a driving mechanism for the front and rear packet guide wheels, guide plate, etc. Instead of one guide wheel, two guide wheels were used, an electric control system controlled a rotary pneumatic cylinder to drive the two guide wheels and realize cigarette packet turnover rapidly. Cigarette brand "Guiyan (hard yellow precious)" was tested on a GDX2 packing line, the results showed that packet turnover time reduced by 24 min and the appearance quality of cigarette packet satisfied the technical requirements. This device provides a technical support for promoting the efficiency of cigarette packing machines.
