Abstract: In order to change carton format from horizontal packet arrangement into vertical arrangement conveniently, a cigarette packet turning device was designed for YB65A cartoner. The device was driven by the power output shaft in YB55A overwrapper, and included a packet turning cam, a sliding seat, a packet turning mandrel, and an adaptive packet input passage. The validation test was carried out in combination with a ZB45 packing line on cigarettes of brand "Yuxi", the results showed that the turning device accurately turned horizontal cigarette packet to its upright position, the cigarette cartons stood firmly on display, and the appearance quality of cartons met the technical requirements. The running efficiency of cigarette packing line increased from 76.86% to 85.40%. This technology provides a technical support for promoting the adaptability of cigarette packing lines.
