Abstract:
In order to express the sensory evaluation data of cigarettes visually and intuitively so as to better identify and use those evaluation results, Chernoff Face combined with multidimensional scaling method was used, the style characters of some domestic cigarette brands were analyzed. The evaluation data were converted into face graphs, which could be easily identified, those datawere expressed in multidimensional scaling plots at the same time. The results showed that the facial expressions, such as face size, shapes of eyes and mouth, could fully express the style character of cigarette. In the multidimensional scaling plots, the similarity and discrepancy between style characters of cigarette brands could be intuitively identified. This method will be helpful to sensory evaluators for knowing the characters of different cigarette brands and guiding the development and maintenance of cigarette products.
