Abstract:
In order to obtain more strips of desirable sizes in green leaf threshing, the baskets with different opening sizes, shapes and opening edge treatments were compared, and conventional baskets were optimized and tested. The results showed that:1) The opening size of basket negatively correlated to lamina yield, the percentages of medium-sized and small-sized strips, the fine and dust contents in strips; while it positively correlated to the percentages of large-sized strips and large-to-medium-sized strips. 2) Reducing the opening size or toothed and carbide casted opening edge might promote the lamina yield of the first stage thresher, but increase tobacco breakage. 3) Comparing with conventional basket, the lamina yield and the percentage of medium-sized strips of the basket with mixed opening sizes increased by 5.54 and 5.56 percentage points respectively, the percentage of large-sized strips decreased by 5.74 percentage points, and the dust content was controlled under 0.8%. This method provides a support for improving threshing efficiency and meeting the requirements of strip structure control.
