Abstract:
In order to study the flavoring effect of filter rod containing menthol cotton thread on cigarette smoke, a GC-MS method to determine the characteristic components in the filter rod was developed. The types of solvents, extraction time, methods and solvent volumes of extraction were optimized, and the transfer behavior of characteristic components in cigarette smoke was studied. The results showed that:1) The optimized pretreatment conditions were:dichloromethane as the extraction solvent, with a solvent volume 4 mL and ultrasonic extraction time 10 minutes. 2) The transfer rate of menthol, menthyl acetate and menthone to mainstream cigarette smoke under ISO smoking regime were 7.46%, 2.45% and 1.64%, respectively. 3) The retention rates of the three characteristic components by filter were in the range of 82.62%-86.94%, indicating that most aroma components in the cotton thread remained in the filter after smoking. This method is easy to operate, rapid and accurate.
