Abstract:
In order to reduce the dust built up and jam in the piping of centralized dust removal system for tobacco primary processing line, the system was modified on the basis of gas-solid two-phase flow theory and calculation of piping system. The piping arrangement was simplified by joining the two parallel dust removal branches in series, raising the air velocity, adopting wear-resistant elbows, and increasing the curvature radius of the elbows from 1.5 times of pipe diameter to 2 times to reduce the resistance loss. The modified system was tested on four tobacco primary processing lines in Nanjing Cigarette Factory, and the results showed that the air velocity reached 29.4 m/s, which was much higher than the minimum of 18 m/s required for dust conveying; the system blockage decreased by 4.33 times per month, and the accumulated down time reduced by 344.2 min per month. This technology provides a support for promoting the operation efficiency of centralized dust removal system for tobacco primary processing line.
