Abstract:
In order to provide technical ideas and scientific basis for domestic oral nicotine product research and development, we analyzed 76 pouched snus products from a foreign company, based on their brand information, types, pouch specifications, packet specifications, physical and chemical quality characteristics, and product nicotine strength. The results showed that: 1) The 76 pouched snus products included 15 brands, 3 types, 4 pouch shapes and 5 strength levels. At the time of this analysis, the white type was the mainstream product with the most diverse product designs. The pouch shapes with different sizes and weights were divided into four types, large, slim, super slim and mini pouches. Product strength significantly positively correlated to total nicotine content, unprotonated nicotine content, nicotine content per pouch and pH of the pouch content, and negatively correlated to moisture contents. 2) In order to meet the diverse consumer needs in different markets, that foreign company developed different series of pouched snus products with different quality characteristics through the combination design of different parameters.
