Abstract:
To evaluate the meteorological conditions for upper flue-cured tobacco leaves during mature period in major tobacco planting counties (cities, districts) of Guizhou Province, the temperature and precipitation data during August to September in 2011-2017 collected from 63 counties (cities, districts) were analyzed. The main meteorological factors and the counties with appropriate meteorological conditions for postponing the harvest time of upper leaves until mid-September were identified. The results showed that besides most tobacco planting counties (cities, districts) in Bijie, Guiyang and Liupanshui cities, the average temperatures in mid- September of the other 49 counties reached or exceeded 20 ℃. The annual stability of temperature in mid- September increased along with the geographical direction from west to east, the annual variation of temperature in most counties was slight except for the major counties (cities, districts) in Bijie and Liupanshui. Most tobacco planting counties (cities, districts) in the west region of Guizhou Province had more precipitation than the east counties in mid-September. The total precipitations from late August to mid-September in 48 counties were less than 150 mm except the west counties (cities, districts) in Bijie, Liupanshui, Qianxinan. The temperature and precipitation conditions in most tobacco planting counties (cities, districts) in Zunyi, Qiandongnan, Tongren, Qiannan, Anshun and few tobacco planting counties (cities, districts) in Guiyang and Bijie were suitable for postponing the harvest time of upper leaves until mid-September.
