Abstract:
As a solution to the machine failures caused by air bubbles and lower adhesive pressure, the adhesive supply system in PROTOS MAX-M8 filter assembler was modified on the basis of fluid mechanics principle. The pneumatic diaphragm pump was relocated to make it connect to the adhesive pot directly. The pipeline was rearranged to cut pipe length by 1.2 m and dispense with 8 pipe connectors thereby to reduce the pressure loss in the adhesive supply pipe. The pneumatic diaphragm pump was replaced to increase flow rate from 20 to 50 mL/min. The modified adhesive supply system was tested on cigarette brand "Double Happiness (Hard Classic 1906)" in Guangzhou Cigarette Factory, the results showed that the new system ran stably, and the machine failures caused by adhesive supplying was avoided; the defective cigarettes with wrinkled tipping paper or air leak decreased from 115 to 37 cigarettes per shift. This technology provides a support for promoting the quality of cigarette filter assembling.
