Abstract:
In order to optimize mainstream cigarette smoke temperature for oral cavities and to improve the comfort of cigarette smoking experience, thermocouples were used to measure the temperature of the filter ends during smoking, and the influences of different cigarette filter designs on the smoke temperature were studied. The results showed that: 1) Cigarette filter could decrease the smoke temperature and effectively reduce the temperature burning of oral cavity. 2) By increasing filter pressure drop, shortening filter length or promoting filter ventilation rate, the filter exit smoke temperature could be controlled. Among these factors, increasing the filter ventilation rate had the most impact. 3) The cooling effects of the filters with different structures were significantly different, in the order of activated carbon ternary filter > grooved filter > activated carbon combined filter > cellulose acetate filter > cavity filter. Among these structures, activated carbon ternary filter and grooved filter could effectively decrease the smoke temperature-led burning sensation for oral cavity and improve the comfort of cigarette smoking.
