Abstract:
To minimize the variation of suction at the suction holes of accelerating wheel caused by dust buildup in the vacuum chamber of the filter rod accelerator in ZL29 filter rod maker, the accelerator was modified. The airflow distribution in the vacuum chamber was analyzed with Ansys simulation software to determine the location of dead corner. A stream of airflow was introduced to force the dust at the dead corner to leave the vacuum chamber together with the airflow. The modified accelerator was tested on 2 ZL29 filter rod makers in Guiyang Cigarette Factory. The results showed that the maintenance frequency of filter rod accelerator reduced from 15 to 4 times per month, the monthly maintenance time decreased from 620 to 160 min, and the running stability of filter rod accelerator was improved effectively. This method provides a support for promoting the efficiency of ZL29 filter rod maker.
