Abstract:
In order to avoid the influences of high temperature processing procedures on casing and the casing loss during conveying, a micro-spray casing system for redried tobacco strips was designed. The system consists of three units: a loading, unloading and reservoir unit, an electrical control unit and a spraying unit. The casing system is arranged between the tobacco strip redryer and the vibrating trough for spreading strips. With two dual-medium atomization nozzles uniform strip casing is completed immediately before packing to reduce casing loss. The designed system was tested on tobacco grade C3F-A strips from Xiangxi in Hunan by taking bioinsecticide methoprene solution as casing. The results showed that: 1) The average relative error of casing application was within 1%, the uniformity coefficient of casing was up to 95.1% while exhausted valve was closed, and the effective utilization rate of casing reached 92.6%. 2) The variation of moisture content in tobacco strips was less than 0.1 percentage point after micro-casing, it suggested that the moisture content was not affected basically. This technology provides a support for improving the uniformity of micro-casing of tobacco strips in green leaf threshing.
