Abstract:
As a solution to the problems of fluctuation of moisture content in output strips from conditioning cylinder during head and tail tobacco discharge stages of a silo, the discharge system of the tobacco silo was modified. A head tobacco monitoring and control device was designed for the initial stage to dynamically regulate the head tobacco throughput with control algorithm; an automatic translated system for picker roller was designed for the final stage to prevent it from blocking tobacco discharge. The bottom belt of the silo was accelerated via optimizing the discharge mode to speed up tail tobacco discharge. The modified discharge system was tested on a GPT15D silo manufactured by Qinhuangdao Tobacco Machinery Limited Corporation, the results showed that the tail tobacco discharge stage shortened by 38.1%, the time of output strips with unqualified moisture content at head tobacco stage and tail tobacco stage reduced by 45.7% and 59.2% respectively, and the running time of tobacco cutter decreased by 12.0%. This technology provides a support for promoting the discharge efficiency of silo and the process quality of cigarettes.
