Abstract:
In order to overcome the problems of rolling block jam and cigarettes with wrinkled or bubbled tipping defects, a short rolling block was designed for ZJ116B filter cigarette maker. The working surface of the rolling block includes a transition section, a rolling section, a glue discharging groove and a supporting section. The rolling section is a surface with sprayed corundum coating 2-4 mm wider than tipping paper; the glue discharging groove is used to discharge the spilled glue; and longitudinal fine-tooth grooves were cut on the supporting section to prevent cigarettes from being squeezed during rolling. By means of CREO modeling, it was found that if the rolling block is set at an inclined-angle of 10.3 degrees and the rods rotate over 1.8 revolutions under rolling, the phenomena of rolling cigarettes into grooves can be effectively prevented. The modified ZJ116B filter cigarette maker was tested on slim cigarettes of brand "Mount Tai (White General)" in Qingdao Cigarette Factory, the results showed that the failures of rolling block jam reduced by 7.7 times/shift, the manual cleaning of the rolling block reduced by 7.2 times/shift, and the cigarettes with wrinkled or bubbled tipping defects decreased by 91.1%. This technology provides a support for promoting the efficiency of slim cigarette makers and the appearance quality of cigarettes.
