Abstract:
To prevent cutting blade carrier from axial movement caused by the enlarged bearing clearance in TOBSPIN tobacco cutter, a device for adjusting bearing clearance was designed. Pointless adjusting screws and pointless set screws were added to the main shaft, and the length of the inner sleeve of the main shaft sleeve was reduced by 30 mm. Through adjusting the adjusting screws, the bearing clearance of cutting blade carrier can be adjusted from 0.35 mm to 0.05 mm (set value) rapidly. The force exerted on the main shaft was analyzed with SolidWorks simulation software. A comparative test between the adjustment tool provided by HAUNI Company and the designed device was conducted. The results showed that the designed device shortened the average adjustment time by 27.33 h per machine and raised the average qualified rate of cut tobacco by 8.48 percentage points. This technology provides a support for improving the consistency of tobacco cutting quality.
