Abstract: To prevent glue and tobacco material from adhering to the surface of rolling drum in YJ212 filter assembler, a rolling drum cleaning device was designed. By using the power of the standby laser perforation device and differential gear transmission, a cleaning brush rotates at a higher speed relative to the rolling drum and at the same time reciprocates against the surface of the rolling drum along its axial direction to clean the surface of the rolling drum continuously. The matters removed by the brush are collected by a negative pressure collecting unit. The designed cleaning device was tested with cigarettes of brand "Taishan (Red General)", the results showed that the manual cleaning work of the rolling drum reduced by 4 times per day, the rolling plate jam reduced by 7 times per day, and the percentage of cigarettes with wrinkled or bubbled defects decreased by 7.6 percentage points. This technology provides a support for promoting the appearance quality of cigarette and the running efficiency of equipment.
