Abstract:
In order to get around the long conveying distance and save time, the silo type FIFO(first in, first out)cigarette reservoir system was modified for adapting to small batch(≤100 000 sticks) production of heated tobacco products(HTPs). The system was modified by setting up an automatic HTPs conveying and receiving bypass system beside the reservoir system. The bypass includes a feeding chamber, a bypass conveyor, an automatic receiving mechanism, and a human-computer interaction system. Each mechanism is independently controlled by a servo drive motor. Through the establishment of a flow transmission model, the fast infeed/outfeed and automatic receiving of HTPs are realized. The modified system was tested in Wuhan Cigarette Factory of China Tobacco Hubei Industrial Corporation Limited. The results showed that the production time of HTPs reduced by 66% and the labor input reduced by 50%. This technology provides support for improving the quality consistency and production efficiency of heated tobacco products.
