Abstract:
Tobacco rod jam or broken in the feeding system of heated tobacco product (HTP) assembling machine YJ27 tends to cause machine shutdowns, by analyzing the feeding system, it was found that the excessively high tobacco rod picking speed of the transfer drum was the main cause of the malfunction. A dual-track feeding system was designed based on the original system. The picking speed was slowed down by simultaneously picking tobacco rods through a pair of pick-up drums. The parameters and corresponding gears of the pick-up drum, transfer drum, combining drum, and accelerating drum in the feeding system were redesigned to synchronize the dual-track feeding system with the main machine. The redesigned system was tested on "MC" brand HTPs at Yuxi Cigarette Factory. The results showed that the operating efficiency of the machine increased from 72.90% to 90.55%, and the proportion of unqualified HTPs decreased from 11.69% to 1.37%. The number of machine shutdowns caused by the tobacco rod jam or broken in the feeding system was reduced to zero. This technology supports the promotion of operating efficiency of HTP production and the reduction of tobacco and material consumption.
