Abstract:
To solve problems such as jam in the cigarette hopper mechanism and interference between moving parts, a flapper-type cigarette hopper was designed for the FY117 waste cigarette processor accordingly, the driving mechanism was modified. The hopper mechanism is movable vertically and has a flapper at the bottom end. The double-sided tooth timing belt for conveying cigarettes is placed directly under the cigarette hopper. Instead of the air cylinder, a grooved cam transmission mechanism is used to agitate the cigarettes of random orientations within the cigarette hopper and intermittently releases the cigarettes into the grooves of the double-sided tooth timing belt. To coordinate the movements of the cigarette hopper mechanism and the flapper with that of the toothed timing belt, the profile of the grooved cam was designed using Solidworks software. The modified collation device was tested with "Septwolves (Chunjing)" brand cigarettes produced by Xiamen Tobacco Industrial Corporation Limited. The results showed that the frequency of jam in the cigarette hopper mechanism decreased from 10 times to 0.5 times per shift, and the operating efficiency of the equipment increased from 75% to 90%. This technology supports the promotion of waste cigarette processing efficiency.
