Abstract:
To address the issue of cigarette packet jamming caused by the poor braking performance of the airbag-type brake in the inlet device of the FOCKE779 carton packaging machine, this study analyzes the cause of the failure based on the working principle of the airbag-type brake and designs a cylinder-type brake. The cylinder-type brake consists of a fixed brake plate, a movable brake plate, and a cylinder. It utilizes compressed air to drive the cylinder, enabling precise adjustment of the clamping force applied by the brake plates on the cigarette packet. This achieves controlled clamping and releasing of the packet while ensuring more uniform force distribution on its surface. Tests were conducted using the “Baisha (Jingpin)” brand cigarette produced by Changsha Cigarette Factory. The results showed that after applying the cylinder-type brake in the FOCKE779 carton packaging machine, the number of Type Ⅰ defective cigarette packets (substandard packets) was reduced to zero, and the number of Type Ⅲ defective packets (with scratches on the carton end) decreased from 140 packets per month to 23 packets per month (a reduction of approximately 84%). No machine stoppage caused by the first pusher jamming occurred, and the hourly efficiency increased by 0.49 cartons per hour. This technology can provide support for improving the packaging quality of cigarette cartons.
