Abstract:
To replace the labor-intensive manual operation of feeding packet and carton packaging papers to packing lines, a system for centralized automatic distribution of packaging papers was designed. The device mainly consists of a fixed frame, a robot arm assembly, a buffer for partition paper, a visual detection and recognition unit for packaging papers, a device for packing up packaging paper, and an electrical control system. The designed system can automatically distribute packet and carton packaging papers to multiple packing lines packing cigarettes of different brands simultaneously. The system was incorporated with the automatic packaging paper supply system in Luoyang Cigarette Factory, and the results showed that it operated smoothly with monthly average machine failure of 1.2 times in the case of feeding 4 ZB45 packing lines, paking cigarettes of 3 brands with packaging papers of 6 specifications. Contrasting to manual feeding, each packer needs to be fed with 48.8 bundles of packaging paper per hour. The mass of a bundle of packet packaging paper is 2.75 kg, and that of carton packaging paper is 11.60 kg. This technology provides technical support for improving the automation of cigarette production.
