Abstract: HIP card was designed for functions that could not be fulfilled by the PLC, such as high speed signal processing, accurate machine controlling, and synchronous cigarette tracing and rejecting in a cigarette maker.HIP card could be integrated into Siemens PLC by hardware and software interface design, and could communicate with host computer by way of its Canbus interface.HIP card could be used for various purposes as a special functional module of PLC by proper periphery interface module configuration and HIP programming.The working principle analysis and practical applications of HIP card helps to better understand the control system in cigarette maker and the techniques of high speed signal processing.
