Abstract: In order to use Shandong tobacco leaves reasonably, 225 cured leaf samples, including X2F, C3F and B2F, of NC89, NC82, CF965, K326 and Yunyan 85 grown at 14 production bases in Shandong Province in 2003 were extracted with petroleum ether.The result showed that:1) the contents of petroleum ether extract in tobacco leaves from different growing areas and different stalk positions differed significantly;and 2) the content differences of petroleum ether extract between different cultivar leaves were not significant.The conclusion was that to adjust cigarette aroma with Shandong tobacco leaves from different growing areas or different stalk positions would be more effective.
