Abstract: In order to investigate the transfer efficiency of nicotine from cigarette to mainstream smoke (MS) and sidestream smoke(SS), the nicotine in MS, SS and cut filler in reference cigarettes injected with different volumes of nicotine were determined.The results showed that the average transfer efficiencies of nicotine from cigarette to MS and SS were 9.97% and 33.42%, respectively.For cigarettes with nicotine deliveries in the range of 8.25-20.23 mg per cigarette, the nicotine content in MS or SS was linearly correlated with that in cigarette.
