Abstract: In order to find a new statistical method for evaluating the quality consistency of tobacco in processing and raising the level of quality control in cigarette manufacturing, the difference signi-ficance of quality variables and process parameters was analyzed with variance analysis and statistical hypothesis test, and the degree of quality consistency in cigarette manufacturing was quantified with the significance level. The results showed that the fluctuation of cigarette manufacturing quality stemmed mainly from the difference in cut tobacco structure between different batches and cigarette making machines. The quality consistency could be improved by minimizing the difference of cut tobacco structure between different cigarette makers and the fluctuation of cut tobacco structure between different batches.
