Abstract: Scanning cigarette cases with hand-held wireless scanner in distribution station was laboursome and mistakable, the problems of low scanning efficiency and high error rate were solved by setting fixed scanners on two sides of a distributing conveyor combined with RS-232 serial communication and OPC technologies. The scanning rate increased from 25 case/min to 40 case/min, and the percent of cases needed to be repeatedly scanned decreased from 5% to 0.1%.
