Abstract:
In order to explore a new approach to reduce tar in cigarette smoke,β-cyclodextrin-triacetin suspension was prepared and used in filter,and the filtration efficiency of three different kinds of filters was tested and compared.The results showed that:suspension which contains 0.04g/mL β-cyclodextrin-triacetin and meets the requirement of filter rod making technology could be prepared by mixing polyethylene glycol-600 and glycerol triacetate(1:2.5,v/v).The results of cigarette smoke analysis showed that:comparing with cellulose acetate filter,β-cyclodextrin filter reduced total particulate matter,tar and nicotine by 13.17%,14.15% and 4.20%,respectively;comparing with activated carbon filter,it reduced total particulate matter and tar by 4.65% and 5.52% respectively,while increased nicotine by 1.79%.It indicated that the filtration capability of β-cyclodextrin filter was better than cellulose acetate filter and activated carbon filter,and its adsorption to tar and nicotine was highly selective.
