Abstract: The volatile components in litchi pericarp extract were extracted with simultaneous distillation-extraction and analyzed with chromatography-mass spectrometry,the extract was added into cigarette.The results showed that:1)32 volatile components were identified in the extract,including monoterpene,sesqui-terpene and their derivatives,furans,which were key tobacco aroma components;2)the smoking quality of cigarette was improved,the fullness and sweetness of cigarette smoke were enhanced,and the irritation was reduced by litchi pericarp extract.Litchi pericarp extract may be used as a new natural flavor for cigarette casing.
