Abstract: The appearance quality,chemical components and sensory quality of flue-cured tobacco from Hubei tobacco growing areas were analyzed and compared with quality flue-cured tobacco from Yunnan,Sichuan,Guizhou and Zimbabwe.The results indicated that:1) the appearance quality and sensory quality of Hubei flue-cured tobacco were pretty good,the tobacco's chemical harmony needed to be improved further,however,the gap between Hubei and Zimbabwe flue-cured tobacco was still large;2) the appearance quality and sensory quality of Hubei flue-cured tobacco were not obviously different from that of Guizhou,while the aroma quality of Hubei tobacco was significantly different from that of Yunnan and Sichuan flue-cured tobacco.The nicotine content in Hubei flue-cured tobacco was significantly higher than that in Yunnan and Sichuan flue-cured tobacco.In general,the quality of Hubei flue-cured tobacco was equal to that of Guizhou flue-cured tobacco and slightly shorter than that of Sichuan and Yunnan flue-cured tobacco.
