Abstract:
In order to find a solution to the mildew and pest damage of stored cured tobacco leaf, the effects of low temperature,air-tight deoxygenation and conventional storage means on cured tobacco leaf quality were studied. The results showed that:1) deoxygenation had the best effects against pest and mildew, and followed by low temperature;2) in terms of the appearance quality of cured tobacco leaf, stored at 15℃ was the best, however, stored at deoxygenation condition was better than stored at 20℃,and both of them were better than the conventional means;3) in terms of the smoking quality of cured tobacco leaf, stored at 15℃ was the best, and that at 20℃ was better than stored with conventional means. The effects of deoxygenation on the smoking quality of cured tobacco leaves were mixed and dependent on growing area, variety and grade. Therefore, taking all the results into account, low temperature(15℃) storage is better.
