Abstract:
In order to utilize the oxidation resistance of active elements in natural plants,apple-polyphenol(PT),grape-polyphenol(PG),and tea-polyphenol(CY) were compared. The antioxidant was added into filter directly or via a carrier,or as a part of a multiple filter after granulation. The antioxidant was further modified to increase its addition rate, and the filter was attached to cigarette ready to be tested. The routine physical characteristics of filters, routine chemical characteristics of and free radical content in cigarette smoke were determined, and the stability of filter performance was tested and evaluated by accelerated oxidation. The results showed that:the free radicals in smoke reduced nearly 30% when the modified antioxidant CY1,which contained 90% active elements, was added in filter at a rate of 3.0 mg/cig.,meanwhile,cigarette appearance and smoke yields were not influenced, and smoking quality did not change obviously.
