Abstract:
The effects of branching after topping and top dressing on physiological characteristics, yield and quality of early flowering flue-cured tobacco were studied. The results showed that:1) comparing with the control, the contents of chlorophyll, nicotine, total N,potassium and protein in and NR activity of upper leaves were decreased and the yield and quality of tobacco leaves were increased in some sort by branching after topping, while the change of amylase activity was unobvious;2) comparing with the control, the chlorophyll content in and NR activity of upper leaves were increased by top dressing, while the change of amylase activity was unobvious;3) branching after toping and top dressing could increase tobacco yield and output value to a certain extent, however, had little effect on the chemical composition in upper leaves. In Nanxiong, the preferred remedial measure for early flowering tobacco is branching 6 leaves after topping and top dressed with 30 kg of potassium nitrate per hectare.
