Abstract: In order to investigate the influence of pneumatic separation of dried cut tobacco on the quality of cigarette,the comparative test was carried out on a pneumatic dryer and a cylinder dryer.The results showed that:1) pneumatic separation removed the wet glomerate tobacco come out of the pneumatic dryer and the scorched tobacco pieces come out of the cylinder dryer,it increased cut tobacco purity by more than 0.2 percentage points;2) pneumatic separation dulled the aroma of higher grade cigarettes and obviously improved the lower grade cigarettes in terms of offensive taste,irritation and aftertaste,the sensory quality of cigarette brand SANHUA(soft blue) increased by 0.8 points;while imparted little effects on smoke compositions;3) pneumatic separation improved the filling power of cut tobacco and reduced tobacco consumption per 50000 cigarettes by more than 0.1 kg.
