Abstract: In the tipping paper glue applicator in PASSIM type filter cigarette making machine, glue is continuously supplied from a glue pot, the moisture dissipation and dust contamination during glue refluxing may lead to intermittent glue supply, and defective cigarettes with air leak or loose filter result. A new glue supply system which incorporated the advantages of glue supply systems in PASSIM and PROTOS was designed. By adding a glue pot, three sequential scrapers, a glue level detector, and improving glue applicator, glue supply becomes uninterrupted, stable and clean. The cigarette defects of air leak and loose filter are eliminated.
