Abstract:
A method for determining the mercury(Hg) content in mainstream cigarette smoke by 50 mg/mL acidic potassium permanganate solution collector, microwave digestion, and SnCl
2 reduction-cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry was investigated, and 12 cigarette smoke samples were tested. The results showed that:1) The recoveries of Hg was from 85.6% to 105.7% with the RSD of less than 5%, the limit of detection of 0.03
μg/L and the linear concentration range of 0.1 to 100
μg/L.2) Hg content in mainstream cigarette smoke positively correlated with tar to a certain extent.
