Abstract:
In order to investigate the relationships of shatter resistance index and machinability of tobacco leaf, tobacco leaves of different types, grades and varieties were sampled from different growing areas, the shatter resistance index, tensile resistance, tensile strength and elongation of the samples were analyzed with simple correlation analysis and grey incidence analysis. The results showed that: shatter resistance index extremely significantly correlated to tensile resistance, tensile strength and elongation, which in the order of grey correlation degree was tensile strength> tensile resistance> elongation; the grey correlation degree of tensile strength and elongation was 0.6561 and 0.6294,respectively. It is feasible to use shatter resistance index to represent the machinability of tobacco leaf.
