Abstract: The slipping of tape on the tape drum in PASSIM filter cigarette maker tends to retard the moving of cut tobacco in the garniture and deteriorate the quality of cigarette. Therefore,the surface of the tape drum was sandblasted to increase the friction between the drum and antiskid tape and minimize tape slipping. The application results showed that the rate of loose end cigarettes reduced from 0.8%-1.2% to 0.2%-0.4%, weight deviation (SD deviation coefficient) decreased from 0.030-0.038 to less than 0.023; the consumption of antiskid tape reduced from 12 to 6 pieces per year,and the labor intensity of maintenance decreased.
