Abstract: The side shaping device in GDX2 packer shapes film-wrapped cigarette packets basing on the principle of thermal expansion. In the case that the heated cigarette packets fail to be cooled down timely under high speed running, staggered the neighboring packets would be bonded and not rightly positioned, then machine jam resulted. Therefore, a blower cooling system was installed at the exit of shaping device and the upper and lower guides of shaping device were modified to facilitate heat dissipation. The results of application showed that the said problem was effectively solved, the packet jam reduced from 36 to 5 times per shift, and the machine efficiency increased.
